Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda) aftermath, Philippines 2013

Just  a week ago Visayas was strucked by typhoon Yolanda,  the strongest storm that hit the world in history, even stronger than hurricane Katrina that killed thousand lives in United States of America on 2005. Hurricane Katrina had a strength of 205 kilometers per hour with 1,833 plus casualties while Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda) had a fierce force of 315 kilometers per hour sustaining 11,000 fatalities and still counting! Few days before it happened, people of the Visayas region were warned by PAG-ASA of the threat of heavy rain fall, flash floods, landslides and storm surge. The latter part was not clearly emphasized; people from Tacloban City expected only a rise of the sea level but not a TSUNAMI of some kind. Everything in Leyte, Bantayan, Eastern Samar and Tacloban City were thoroughly washed off!

Primary structures, distinguished establishments, historical landmarks, public places and utilities, hospitals and government offices were completely vanished! Corpse were scattered everywhere! Literally everywhere, bodies on the shore, roads, buildings, even smashed by debris and fallen structures! The pass on of the reliever is really slow! THEY NEED HELP! They struggle for food and water. They are not looters as what others name them, because if they were, they would have sneaked in to factories and buildings for their own good but they went beyond their limits to feed their families and keep them alive. They merely had no choice.

Social media has been flooded with hate massages blaming the government for being corrupt, taking advantage of the situation, asking taxes to foreign military and first aid responders for the relief goods to be handed over to the people. It shouldn't be that way. The United Nations are freely extending their help, Filipino's should be thankful for that alone. THEY NEED HELP, a lot of them are very hungry, utterly helpless, barely breathing and at snail's pace of dying! Thousands are badly injured, totally damaged and deeply traumatized! Many lives were lost and children's future is at stake. Could you just imagine how they sleep at night with an empty stomach, aching wounds and broken hearts while lying beside the dead body of their loved ones? It's terribly horrifying!

Yes, Help has arrived with the aid of all of the countries sending their love and helping hands to assist the Filipino's but it will take time, a long time to restore what has been destroyed or maybe it will never be restored. I pray that the Philippines will be healed. Step aside the political issues and everyone should work unitedly to reach a common goal. THEY NEED HELP to uplift their spirits to keep them going, so LET'S HELP THEM and I say instead of posting pictures of dead people, destructive images and complaining of corrupt government, I encourage everyone to donate and do relief campaigns and restoration programs, little by little it can be done. Remember, nobody wanted this to happen. Nobody!

Devina Dediva, who are you to judge MEGAN YOUNG, and the rest of the Filipino's

Devina DeDiva, who are you to judge?

I am not troubled or disheartened by this Devina Dediva, who may have judged Megan Young, MISS WORLD 2013 questioning why on earth did she won the pageant. Filipina's have grace and poise and compassion in every single deed. It is true that 80% of Filipino are working as OFW's but they are working for their families, sacrificing being away from their homes to serve other people for the goodness of makind, many of our kabayan excel in different angles and profession. I am proud to be a Pinoy and I am not bothered by her being irascible and cantankerous. This one's for you Miss Dediva, before you start pointing fingers , make sure your hands are clean. I am absolutely sure , you don't have even a single Filipino cell in your body, so it leaves me thinking, where did you came from? Mars!! I guess!!

PS: I own this blog so I have every right to put in here whatever it is that i feel like writing. Flood me with haters. I really don't care! xoxo..

Whale Shark "Butanding" Watching !

Last year I posted pictures of my friends tripping at Oslob Cebu, venturing the most popular “Butanding” Whale Shark Watching. I waited a year to experience it myself with my family. It was a blast and it was the first time I submerged into the waters with fishes bigger than I am. A lot of tourists from different places were there to witness the amazing Butandings. It was a splendid experience for first timers like me !

Getting there is not that hard at all. It is just a matter of a bus ride from South Bus Terminal, take the safest Bus Liner (Ceres Bus) heading to Bato, Oslob and note the barker and they’ll drop you right where you are headed.

For those who just want to do Whale Watching, it will cost you only 100 php. For those who want to go snorkeling, the price is only 300 php. Oxygen tank for divers are also available at 1,500php. Cottages are rented roughly from 300-500php. Bringing of foods and drinks are allowed.

So I’m going to show you some pics we took during our trip! Enjoy!

Anika Island Resort, Sta. Fe Bantayan Island Cebu Philippines!

 Never too late for summer!

If you want a blissful summer where there isn't much crowd, Anika Island Resort in Sta. Fe Bantayan Island Cebu is the perfect place to be!
The resort is new, was made like about 2 years ago. You will surely fall in love the moment you step in. It’s also perfect for couples on honeymoon.
Rooms are upfront the beach and cottages are lovely nature made. The beach is clean and mmm the sea breeze, its breath taking.
I for one didn't even noticed I have fallen asleep for like 4 hours on a beach chair!
Here’s how to get there:
Ride a bus from Ceres Bus Liner at North Terminal heading to Hagnaya (120 php). Reaching Hagnaya there's an affordable boat ride from Cebu to Bantayan Island that will cost you only 180 pesos.
Its roughly 1-2 hours travel time. That easy! There are numerous beautiful resorts in Bantayan but ANIKA ISLAND BEACH RESORT was the most beautiful of them all.

My family stayed at Anika for 3 days and 2 nights. During those days, it was like a haven! They welcomed us with juices and teas and served sumptuous meals with fresh fruits and variety of dishes.
